This two-day workshop will introduce data literacy elements and skills required for working with data through the research process.

Day 1 is focused on data management, including the collection, cleaning, and structuring of data to answer a research question. At the end of the day, we will discuss the services that libraries can provide to support campus data use and curation.

Participation

We will begin with a couple of presentations about developing a research question and the fundamentals for working with data. Then we will get hands-on as we begin to make the changes we need in our dataset(s) in order to accomplish our assessment goals. Finally, we will end in a discussion about services and the role you can play on your campus.
